Hello everyone...

Classes at the studio have now been suspended for the time being, however this does not mean we have to stop practicing together. As mentioned in my email last Sunday, we are now on Stage 2, this means I am moving all classes to an online platform called ZOOM. Full details below. Any classes remaining in this block are to be carried over to whenever we can restart.

Here We Are…

I know many of us are feeling uncertain right now.  We have a choice in this situation, we can add to the momentum of fear which will lodge itself more deeply into our own being (physically, mentally, energetically) and accelerate the fear within and around us, or we can take calm action to make the most of the situation we find ourselves in.

If you feel you have let some unhealthy habits into your life, use now as the time to reset. It’s officially Spring (hooray!) and the perfect time for a cleanse. Being pushed to step out of our usual ‘routines’ is a good starting point to invite in some new more nourishing ones. A regular practice of Yoga or Pilates is one way to set a healthy commitment to yourself and your well-being.

I have adapted the class timetable to support this, with shorter sessions so you can more easily fit them in your day, but join in as many as possible. A daily practice is one of the best gifts you can give your mind and body and you’ll really notice a positive difference.

LIVE online class timetable…

Monday 6-6.45pm Yoga

Monday 7-7.30pm Pilates

Tuesday 5-5.30pm Gentle Pilates

Tuesday 6-6.30pm Pilates

Wednesday 5.15-5.45pm Yin Yoga

Wednesday 6-6.30pm Pilates

Thursday 5.30-6pm Pilates

Thursday 6.15-7pm Yoga

I will be online 10 minutes before the class, in between class and afterwards, if you’ve any questions, comments or just to share friendly hellos together. This will be particularly beneficial to those who are isolated.

Evening classes: £6 per week, unlimited attendance to LIVE classes with me and a group of familiar faces (recurring subscription)

A 40 Day Challenge…

As an incentive for you take up a daily practice I invite you to join me on a 40 day Kundalini Yoga journey.  We meet EVERY morning to practice the same Kriya and set a positive tone for the day ahead - if you can’t make any other class, try to make this transformational daily practice.  A Kriya is a fixed sequence with a desired outcome to:

They are particularly powerful during times of turbulence, change and uncertainty. To get most benefit set a non-negotiable commitment to yourself to be on your mat, hit the video link and follow along with me, even if you’re still in your pyjamas!

Please note that for this class I will be wearing a bed head and scruffs, so don’t worry what you look like!  You can do Part 1, Part 2 or both if time.

How to access the live classes…

The live lessons will be held on the platform Zoom (www.zoom.us) See more about Zoom for first time users in the QUESTION section below.

- From an iPad or mobile phone please download the Zoom app (for free).

I will then send a link (via email) which is an invitation to the live stream. Click on the link and enter the PIN and password if prompted (it may do this for you automatically).

- From a laptop or desktop you will not need to do anything until you receive an email from Zoom which is an invitation to the live stream. Please click on the link in this email, download the Zoom programme (it’s free), enter the PIN and password if prompted (it may do this for you automatically). When prompted please do give access to your microphone AND camera (or video).

NB: You will not be able to join the class unless it is at the correct time (see timetable) as it is a live steam there will be no-one there if you try and logon earlier or later!

TIP: I recommend you use a desktop or laptop if possible (the bigger the screen the better) so you have a better view of the class.

If you have any questions/comments please send them, here are some I’ve already had:

Will we all be able to see each other?

You will mainly see me as the ‘host’ on the screen, there is also a very small strip along the top of the screen where each person attending is shown, but this is small and the more people that join the less you can see. You do have the option to ‘hide’ yourself and just your name will be shown.

Will we hear each other?

I have the controls being the ‘host’. I shall set the audio so that for the 10minutes before class we can chat, then once we start I will ‘mute’ everyone so that only my speaker is on, just incase your dog barks, your phone rings, kids come running in or you break wind - no one else will hear!

Do I need to bring equipment to class?

A mat is ideal, but not essential as you can practice on any floor, but a mat gives better cushioning and friction. Bring a blanket to class (and a block if you have one) as we may use those.

Do I need technical experience?

Not really, but you do need to be able to get onto the internet and ideally with a screen camera so that I can see you, otherwise you’ll be able to see me but I won’t see you.

Are there any pre-requisites?

Pre requisite of joining the online LIVE classes with me, from my home are a PC, MAC, iPad or Android, ideally with built in camera and a space with minimal distraction for 30-45mins.

I want to join but can’t afford it at the moment.

Please get in touch with me, together we’ll work something out so you can still join in. I’d rather you do that than you not be able to benefit.

How does Zoom work, I’ve never used it before?

A few final words…

My personal intention in this situation is to try deal with it with from a place that can make me stronger going forward. Use your powerful energy for something positive amidst the negative, cultivate a daily practice to shape and direct your energy each day. Give prayers of gratitude for what we still have, and take care of these precious commodities. Offer strength to the universe as it tries to find its balance. I truly hope that we can, as individuals, as communities, nationally and globally take something from the situation we find ourselves in and become stronger for it, to help maintain natures delicate balance.

I wish you all well over the coming months,

With gratitude
