Sun Salutations

Practicing Sun Salutations daily can work wonders for every part of the body, from head to toe, develops a clear flow of prana and gives you a wonderful uplifting feeling to start the day.  This wonderful gift of Yoga will help improve your overall health and well being.

We use Sun Salutations (also known as Surya Namaskar, salute to the sun) at the beginning of the class as a way to integrate the breath and movement along with warming up the muscles and joint to prepare the body for further postures.  They are also a great way to mentally engage in the Yoga practice, they work many organs of the body, and if you are short of time a few of these can constitute for a short practice at home. Below is the flow of the Sun Salutation sequence so that you can practice these at home between classes.
